A/C & Heating

Comfort matters. Clear glass does, too.

  • Airflow
  • Temperature
  • Visibility

Cabin comfort is not only about a hot afternoon or a cold morning. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning also matter when you need to clear the windshield. O’Hara and Sons Automotive offers A/C and heating service in Northeast Philadelphia. A useful first step is separating an airflow problem from a temperature problem: is the air weak, the wrong temperature, or both?

01

Notice what changes with the controls

Check what you can observe during ordinary use: whether all fan speeds work, whether airflow reaches the selected vents, and whether one side feels different from the other. Note if the concern changes when the vehicle is moving, stopped or first started. Tell the shop about noises, unusual smells and recent work. These observations provide direction without assuming that every warm-air complaint needs the same service.

02

A system concern needs a system view

Cabin temperature depends on several parts working together. A/C concerns can involve refrigerant, electrical controls or other components; heating complaints may involve airflow, controls or the vehicle’s cooling system. Simply adding refrigerant does not explain why a system stopped cooling. The appropriate next step depends on the vehicle and the findings, including whether there is an underlying leak or another fault to address.

03

Separate discomfort from an urgent warning

Poor cabin heat and a rising engine-temperature gauge are different kinds of concern. If the vehicle is overheating or displaying a serious temperature warning, stop safely and follow the owner’s manual rather than continuing to drive for the sake of cabin comfort. If visibility is affected because you cannot clear the glass, do not set off until you can see properly. Call with the symptoms and vehicle details to discuss inspection arrangements.

A LITTLE CLARITY

Good questions.Straight answers.

Still wondering about something? Call (267) 995-0203, Mon–Fri, 8 AM–6 PM.

Does warm A/C always mean it needs a recharge?

No. Warm airflow can have several causes. Testing and inspection help determine whether refrigerant level, a leak, a control issue or another condition is relevant to your vehicle.

What should I mention about an intermittent problem?

Describe the outside conditions, time since starting, fan setting and whether the vehicle was moving. If the concern comes and goes, these details can be more useful than simply saying the system sometimes works.

Where can I arrange A/C or heating service?
